15 million rupees are donated by IT companies to the Alkhidmat Foundation for flood relief efforts

The Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) member businesses have given Rs. 15 million to the Alkhidmat Foundation to aid the flood victims.

According to a statement made by P@SHA, Alkhidmat Foundation will see to it that aid and food supplies, such as dry food, dry eatables, packaged milk and juices, formula milk powder for children of different ages, water-proof tents, linen sheets, clean drinking water, dry eatables, stitched or ready-to-wear clothing, plastic shoes, hygiene products, raw food items, and medical supplies, are delivered to flood victims.

According to the chairman, Badar Khushnood, “P@SHA issued an appeal two weeks ago to its member companies to donate generously and contribute actively in this need of the hour; which has caused millions of families to be displaced as one-third of Pakistan is drowning due to the floods and have lost shelter.

In addition, there are 2 million youngsters who require baby food and over 500,000 pregnant mothers. Children, pregnant women, the elderly, and others who are sick require prompt medical care and humanitarian assistance.

Hira Zainab, the secretary general of P@SHA, stated that P@SHA sees it as its duty to organize the IT industry to help underprivileged people.

P@SHA is grateful to those business pioneers who stepped forward and have so far contributed more than $15 million. She said that P@SHA sees this as the start of its CSR efforts for flood victims, which it would carry out with the cooperation of the IT sector.
