On Panj Pir Manawan Road in the Khushab district. A Mazda vehicle crashed into a ditch. The accident killed14 people and injured 12. According to officials on Saturday.

A news release issued by Rescue 1122. News stated that the truck was going from Bannu in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Naushera in Punjab at the time of the accident.

According to District Rescue Officer Hafiz Abdul Rasheed, a brake malfunction was the reason for the collision. Pictures from the site indicate that the car had rolled over onto its side.

Rasheed told the news,

“The truck accident killed 14 people and injured 12.”

Four individuals with minor injuries received on-site medical attention from rescue personnel. They sent the other eight to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Naushera with “serious injuries.”

Mohsin Naqvi, the interior minister, expressed his sincere sorrow over the catastrophe and sent his condolences to the families of the departed. He prayed for the injured people to heal quickly.

There have been several serious traffic accidents in Punjab. A pick-up truck carrying drums of diesel collided with a passenger bus on the road near Pindi Bhattian in August 2023. The bus took fire, killing eighteen persons.

High-fatality traffic accidents are increasing in the country. Inadequate safety protocols, inadequate driver education, and deteriorating transportation infrastructure cause accidents.

Passengers do not wear seatbelts, and buses and trucks are packed to capacity. A single-vehicle accidents result in large mortality tolls.

The World Health Organisation predicts that in 2018, 27,000+ individuals died driving in Pakistan.
